Our mission

At LIGA, our mission is to
make beautiful things out of sustainable materials. These products are
affordable, innovative, and inspired by the natural world we’re committed to
protecting. We are dedicated to conserving the environment through conscious material
choices and responsible design. From organic, unbleached cotton and compostable
cloth to recycled plastics and rubber, and ethically sourced cork - we only
take what the planet is happy to give. In return, we create thoughtful, lasting
products that bring nature into everyday living.

Our cOMMITMENT

Our environmental commitment extends into our daily practices: we use naturally sourced materials, minimalist recyclable packaging, and operate a nationwide customer-led cork recycling scheme. We are proud to upcycle materials and actively work to reduce cork waste and the volume of waste sent to landfill. We’re inspired by customers who care deeply about what they buy and where it comes from. It matters to us, too. We take great care in understanding and reducing the impact of our operations. LIGA is not just a business - it’s a way of life, and a reflection of our belief that beautiful products can also be responsible.

our materials

Our supply chain is globally diverse, spanning countries such as Portugal, Greece, Sweden, India, and local suppliers in the UK. We know that our biggest environmental impact lies in the materials we use in our products and we are always exploring new ways to enhance our sustainability.

This means we are always working to improve the materials we use in our products. From using organic lower-impact crop like cotton and linen we can reduce our water usage to using recycled materials like recycled rubber and Eva plastics. We want our products to be the best they can be while also making sure the planet is happy too.

cork recycling scheme

We’ve launched our cork recycling initiative to help close the loop on waste and support cork forests for generations to come.

After enjoying your wine, simply save the natural cork stopper and drop it off at one of our Cork Recycling Partners around the UK.

For every 100kg of cork we collect, we plant a cork oak tree. Cork trees are vital - not just for making beautiful, sustainable products - but for preserving biodiversity and capturing carbon.

Hotter, drier summers mean thinner bark and smaller cork harvests — making recycling and replanting more important than ever.

Your corks help protect cork forests, support reforestation, and drive real climate impact.
